This Piano is a Steinway B' Grand, Cherry Satin. It received a full rebuild without the case repair. Serial number 96000. It is always fascinating working on very old Steinways, particular this one. Because it has never been touched before regarding a complete restoration. Everything proved to be original. Even the Plate Bolts had signs of the original wax coatings on the tip of the threads.

Very essential sometimes with old damper levers to replace the grub screws with inserts plus screws. It makes regulating the dampers easier.

On several Keys, I had to repair the Balance pin holes with a provided repair kit incl the drills from Jahn.de. The repair proved to be very efficient.

I always wanted to try that particular Hammerfelt. Since my apprenticeship I heard about the Company, which supplied Hammers in the old days to a lot of Piano Manufacturers.>

I was utterly surprised after I pre-voiced a few guide Hammers. The sound proved to be very round, extremely luscious in the variety of soundcolours and depth. Also the Hammers were not produced too hard in the making, so as a result, the voicing was very concentrated and not so time consuming to achieve.
